Originally a farmhouse, “The Top House” has been a licensed hostelry for nearly 200 years, the last 50 years run by the Greenslade family.  Part of the bar houses a fine collection of 19th century watercolours and antique prints of views of The Lizard and Kynance. There is an extensive collection of lifeboat and shipwreck artefacts and a miniature bottle collection.

A selection of hot and cold meals is served lunchtimes and evenings throughout the year.  In summer there is a small garden and in winter a welcoming fire burns.  Large carpark.

There has been a public house on the site for several hundred years until it burnt down in the early 1900s. It was rebuilt and today it is set in 3 acres of grounds. The Three Tuns maintains much of its original character, and its speciality is its homemade food and a choice of beers to suit most palates.

Standing in the village square with local shops at hand, numerous beaches nearby and of course beautiful coastal walks.

A wonderful acquisition:

While perusing the West Briton auction pages, one of our Committee members spotted a very interesting Lot available at the Truro Auction Centre.  It consisted of the complete set of volumes (1955–95) of The Lizard –A Magazine of Field Studies.  We set a price ceiling and went along to the auction to bid for them; we were successful and acquired them.  They are a wonderful cornucopia of learned articles covering the archaeology, flora, fauna, geology, history and interrelated subjects of the Lizard Peninsula.  We have catalogued all the articles in these heritage documents and  Members may request copies, for which a small charge may be made to cover expenses.

Committee Members

Our new charitable status enables us to expand the range of our activities and we have many ideas that can be pursued.  We are held back, however, by insufficient Committee members.  Please contact our Chairman if you can help in any way.
